To keep my little boy busy in his no school days (the next Monday and Tuesday), we planned a long weekend getaway in white mountain: staying at a resort for two nights. Lift ride, short family hiking, riding steam train, etc. would keep us busy in these days! No matter how much I love city life, once a while I would like to escape from the chaos of the city and get close to nature!

Mid Sep.could be pretty cold in mountains, upper 30F to 60F today! My new Lululemon red jacket (my first purchase from Lululemon!) keeps me warm and makes me eye catchy in mountains~ Compared to the North Face, lululemon has more styles and fits better on me. Lululemon certainly runs small, and I need size 4 for their tops (I am size 0/xs normally) and size 4 or even 6 for their pants (I wear size 25 jeans). Price wise, Lululemon clothes are pricy and rare on sale.

The little guy wears the same hat as me! I mean the same color, and same SIZE. He found some purple flower, and picked them for me! So sweet~

Evening is very quiet in such a low season, which is actually great to take a family stroll in the resort! Thanks for Michelle's quilted vest (s'Max Mara, more styles here), giving me a casual but stylish look! The vest is light weighted (great for traveling) and runs true to size.

Thank you for your reading, and have a great start of the week!

We went to Newport Kite Festival this weekend, flying kites and meeting new friends. The last time I flied kite was about a decade ago, but I am still good at it :). Newport is so beautiful, and we will definitely come back to the beaches and the surrounding nature areas soon. Check our YouTube videos, here.

James Perse contrast panel cotton shirt is always my top choice for outdoor activities. They are so soft and comfy, and easy to go with shorts and jeans. Though they are pricy, once a while they are on sale. Both of my pink and navy shirts were bought with less than $50.

Hello, everyone! I am so sorry  for not adding any new posts for so long. Finally, I found a good replacement of my broken lens and today's pictures are all taken by my new Tamron SP AF 60mm F/2.0 Dill II Macro 1:1 lens. I paid over $500USD for it, in my mind,  the quality of these pictures has paid off the price already!

First, I want to share these beautiful spring flowers which have blossomed in my front yard.  To be honest, I didn't know what was my favorite season before. However, when I saw those bright colorful blooming flowers while I were driving in the community this morning, my eyes opened up. I suddenly realized that my favorite season is spring. Maybe for people who live in the southern part of the country will never experience the feeling I had this morning. Spring brings me joy, energy, and hope.

If you have any plan to shop in the well-known Woodbury Common Premium Outlets located at Central Valley, New York, please, please, take this chance to have a tour in the Bear Mountain State Park, and its surrounding area including Seven Lakes drive. We made countless visits in all four seasons ever since we moved to northern Jersey. Boating, fishing, trailing, hiking, and you name it. I always feel I'm gonna lose something if I don't throw myself outside in such an early Spring sunny day.

Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge is a good place to go during fall and winter time when insect repellent is not needed. Otherwise those little bugs are quite annoying. It is a migrating-resting and feeding area of more than 200 species of birds. It is also called "home" by a wide variety of wildflowers, plants, as well as turtles, snakes, fogs, fish, deer, muskrat, raccoons, and fox.

One interesting story is, in 1960s, there was a year-long legal battle that local residents against Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials wishing to turn the Great Swamp into a major regional airport to supplement Newark Airport's ability to accommodate large jet aircraft. Of course, finally the local residents won and we have the opportunity standing on the observation deck to have a closer watch of the wildlife!
